| Summary of Quality Systems Survey Conducted at Aero Decals by Goodrich Aerostructures on September 25, 2007
On-site Visit Purpose and Scope The purpose of the on-site visit was to review Aero Decals quality system for compliance with Goodrich Aerostructures’ quality system requirements and to provide training for specific requirements regarding doing business with Goodrich Aerostructures. Company Background Aero Decals specializes in all aircraft signage and is the largest F.A.A-PMA approved manufacturer for such signage. They have been established for over 25 years and have over thirty five years of large aircraft full painting and marking experience. Their customer base includes major commercial air carriers worldwide, commuter carriers, general aviation, military as well as Boeing MCD, Lockheed, Raytheon, Lear and Northrup Grumman. They produce all graphics for the interior and exterior of all aircraft including space vehicles and the international space station. Aero Decals has their own F.A.A. Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative in house.
The audit was conducted on September 25, 2007. The facility is located in Palm Bay, Florida. The facility is approximately 4000 square feet in size and employs 12 individuals. The owner of Aero Decals and the Director of Quality is Jack Little. After a tour of the facility, a review of Aero Decals procedures was conducted. Aero Decals has a Quality Control Manual and a set of Administrative and Technical Procedures. During the review of procedures there were many examples of objective evidence to demonstrate compliance to their internal documentation. (e.g. Control of Non-conforming Product, Internal Audits, First Article Inspection, Corrective Action) There were no findings. (Initially it was recommended that Aero Decals create a procedure to document how they control their Quality Records. The information currently resides in multiple documents. However, after discussing with senior auditors and the Supply Chain Quality Manager it was determined that it was non-valued added to recommend the creation of a Quality Records procedure). Conclusion The audit was conducted using the AS9100 Standard audit form. Aero
Decals showed compliance to all the requirements of all items on the
